We're one of the only makers whose wraps are Certified Food Safe
The vast majority of wraps found on Amazon or in large supermarkets and homewares stores are mass-produced in factories in China. We don't know what's gone into them (they have not been tested for harmful substances that could seep into food), or how environmentally sound their production is, or the working conditions of the people in their factories.
Our beeswax wraps are not only 100% handmade by us with complete traceability of all ingredients – including their Beeswax Certificate of Analysis, Damar Resin Material Safety Data Sheet, Declaration of Origin, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Country of Origin, OEKO-TEX Certificates and more, they have also been independently tested and certified food safe.

Our beeswax wraps have been independently tested to international standards, so you know exactly what's covering your sandwiches and leftovers.
They've passed all the laboratory tests to guarantee there are no harmful substances like lead or arsenic (or mercury or 23 other substances), that the wax mixture doesn't seep into food and that it doesn't transfer any smell or taste.
Our beeswax wraps comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, the UK's Materials and Articles in Contact with Food Regulations 2012 and Standard EN1186.
That's why we're one of the only beeswax wraps makers in the world certified to use the international "approved for food use" 'glass and fork' symbol.

In addition to certification testing, the all-natural raw materials that go into our wraps are approved as safe in food by the US Food and Drug Administration, the UK's Food Standards Agency and the European Food Safety Authority.
The OEKO-TEX Certificates for our fabric mean they have passed stringent tests for dozens of harmful substances (like formaldehyde, lead, arsenic, pesticides, carcinogens, etc.) to ensure that the fabrics are in no way harmful to health.
Some of our fabrics are additionally REACH Certified (EU REACH regulation (EC) No 1907/2006).
Our Certified Food Safe Test Results
▸ Independently tested and Certified Food Safe – and we publish the full results
In addition to only using raw ingredients that the US, UK and European food safety agencies have approved as safe in food, AND using fabrics that are OEKO-TEX Certified as having been extensively tested for any harmful substances, we have had our finished products rigorously tested by an independent product testing facility in the UK.
▸ We have passed both the migration and metal/element release tests
This means that the ingredients that make up our wraps – beeswax, damar resin, extra-virgin olive oil and 100% cotton fabric – will not be passed on to your food, as per Standard EN1186. The scientists call this "migration" and our wraps scored very well: less than 3.5mg/dm². To put that into context, plastic food packaging is allowed to migrate up to 10mg/dm² of whatever it's made from to your food.
▸ Our wraps passed tests for 23 metals and elements including arsenic, lead and mercury
Our wraps fully comply with EU Regulations 10/2011EU as amended by (EU) 2020/1245 – the regulation on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. In fact, there is absolutely no trace of arsenic, lead or mercury in our wraps (the regulation allows for tiny amounts in plastic food packaging!).
▸ Our wraps passed an official sensory evaluation for smell and taste with flying colours
They transfer no perceptible smell or taste to your food according to the official sniffers and tasters at the independent testing facility.
