The care of plants, animals, people and community, as a living biosphere and ecosystem, through the care of the Earth's Soil, Water, Air and Minerals, is important to us. We look to source natural, compostable, cruelty-free, sustainable products.

So, too, the way we relate and communicate with one another as a local and global collective.

In the short and long term, we do our best to choose and implement the following:

• Shopping and back-end business systems that are energy efficient, automate the collection of end-of-use products, and the making of new products.
• Recycled if we can – we do our best to source closed-loop manufacturers.
• Minimum travel miles for our products – we look to minimise with careful purchasing choices.
• We’d like to be part of the solution for sustainability, all the while bringing our customers wonderful products.
• We have set up, or are part of, collaborations to provide donations for #planetcare services.
• Every product is considered: where it’s made, how it’s made, how far it travels, and what happens at the end of its use. This takes time – but the way we see it, we have time and energy; what we don’t have right now is a pristine, healthy planet.

Our underlying philosophy is…

The way a product arrives matters as much as what’s inside it – so we’ve thought carefully about every layer of our packaging.

• We currently package our products in reused, recycled paper/bubble wrap, packets or boxes, wherever possible.
• It may not look fancy but no unnecessary environmental toxins were further created to get your parcel to you.
• Any paper or printed flyers are made from FSC or recycled paper.
• We kindly ask our customers to remember to recycle or reuse, in whatever way best suits them, the packaging we have sent.
• What cannot be put into their council recycling system, we hope and encourage them to re-use.
• We are also more than happy if they could pass on any bubble wrap or packets that cannot yet be commercially recycled – either back to ourselves next we meet, or to others who can make good reuse of them. We have no need to buy new plastic packaging.
• As and when we run out of our saved packaging materials, we source biodegradable, environmentally sustainable materials instead.

• We believe in recycling, reusing, up-cycling and cleaning up the planet – and we want to bring you products from partners who share that ethos.
• Why use new virgin materials when there is so much waste scattered around our planet, doing harm, that we can use instead?
• Before working with any supplier, we check them against our five pillars – Planet Care, Packaging, Eco Partners, Wellbeing, and Community – to make sure their values and practices align with ours.
• We carefully review each supplier’s manufacturing materials, production procedures, and sourcing choices before making a decision.
• If a supplier doesn’t meet our standards, they don’t make it into the Emporium – it’s that straightforward.

Everything in the Emporium is chosen to support a healthier life and a healthier planet – for you, your family, your pets, and the world beyond your doorstep.

• We only want to sell products that do no harm – to our families, pets, garden wildlife, and the wider world.
• We favour certified organic and natural products wherever possible, and actively avoid known toxins and synthetic chemicals.
• We’re not interested in quick fixes that mask problems while creating new ones – we look for products that support long-term health and balance.

We’re building towards meaningful giving – a percentage of profits is earmarked for causes close to our hearts, including animal rescue, #petcare, #peoplecare, and planet-care projects. How much we can give depends on you, our customer – and we’ll share more as that grows.
