Lavender essential oil is a thin, colourless to pale yellow oil extracted via steam distillation of the fresh flowering tops of the lavender plant. Perhaps the most popular essential oil of all, this much-loved natural ingredient is favoured for its calming effects. It also benefits from having several skin and hair-boosting properties.

– 'High altitude' lavender is stronger than other types, so less is needed.
