Description

Inci: Mentha piperita

A very penetrating, grassy, minty, cool, menthol fragrance.

A clear to pale yellow oil obtained from steam distillation of the flowering herb. According to the Cosmetic Ingredient Database (CosIng), the functions of Peppermint Essential Oil are: Masking, Perfuming, Refreshing, Tonic. To view more information, visit the CosIng Database HERE.

▸ How to Use It

Skin Care

– It can make a very soothing and cooling leg lotion as it is a refrigerant.

– For the same reasons, it makes a very cooling after sun gel or lotion.

– Helps keep the lips flexible in lip balms as well as being very refreshing.

– A good choice in foot creams and nail oils.

Hair Care

– Used at less than 1%, it is very soothing in a shampoo, and can be used in those with an itchy scalp.

Other

– A good choice in a massage lotion or oil blend.

– Can be included in products designed for use after high-impact sports.

▸ Cautions / Contraindications

– Use with caution in pregnancy as it can be a dermal irritant if used in excess, as well as decrease breast milk production.

– Can antidote homoeopathic remedies.

– May irritate mucous membranes.
